POUCHKINE, Alexandre. Le Coq d'or et d'autres contes illustrés par B. Zworykine. Paris, Piazza, [1925]. Handsome edition of Pushkin’s The Golden Cockerel, with illustrations by a follower of the Petersburg School. This copy with an extra suite of plates (Cf.: The Paul M. Fekula Collection. A Catalogue. New-York, 1988, vol. II, p.118). Both Bilibin and Zworykine framed their compositions with ornamental borders filled with arabesque derived from folk art and medieval manuscript illumination.
