The Parliament denounces the Kingdom’s excessive spending and urges the King to reduce taxes that are too burdensome for the people. 2) +++ SPIRIT of the EDICTS, officially recorded at the Parliament of Grenoble on May 10, 1788. A 12mo sheet of 20 pages with a plain gray paper cover from the period. List of grievances: Extension of the second twentieth tax; Conversion of corvée labor into monetary payments; Redemption of municipal offices; Abolition of courts..... Reestablishment of the Plenary Court...
