Alfred de VIGNY. L.A.S., January 15, 1846, [to his friend Baron de CROUSEILHES?]; 2 pages in-8. He has "forgotten nothing of our too rare encounters, of our serious yet familiar talks. I dare not seek them out, knowing full well the labors I would tear you away from, but I hope for them from my lucky star". He replies to her last letter of May 11, 1845. "It was the day of my birth as an Academician, and I was only undressed until my baptism, which may be on January 29. You wanted to attend then, so if you're in the same frame of mind, please ask me. The others ask me for a place, and I offer it to you with all my old friendship" Correspondance, t. VI, 46-8.
