Italian school circa 1700 Album of twelve leaves of full-length figure studies. Italian morocco binding, richly decorated with a central coat of arms and foliate scrolls around the edges, with the Latin formula S.P.Q.R on the reverse (22.5 x 17 cm) Sanguine. Glued to sheet (minor damage to margins; minor pitting; a few stains). Captioned in Italian at bottom. H. 21 L. 13.5 cm The indication on the title page refers to Luca Giordano's (Naples 1634 id.; 1706) trip to Spain at the court of Charles III (1692-1700) with his three collaborators, his son Nicolo, his nephew Giuseppe and the painter Paolo de Matteis (Cf Oreste Ferrari & Giuseppe Scavizzi, Luca Giordano, T. 1. Gli anni della Spagna, pp.123 148 155 Electa Napoli1992). Compare with the engraved studies of Spanish costumes in the Hispania Rustica suite (1557-1558) by Enea Vico (1523-1567).
