LOUKOUTINE MANUFACTURE. Rectangular-shaped lacquered paper box decorated with a polychrome microbody portrait of Tsarevich Alexander Nicolayevich of Russia, future Emperor Alexander II, (1818-1881) circa 1850, in the uniform of an officer of the 44th Dragoon Regiment of Nizhny Novgorod, wearing the 4th Class Cross of St. George, a badge for 15 years of impeccable service, the plaque of the Order of St. Andrew and the plaque of the Order of St. Vladimir. Hinged opening, imitation tortoiseshell interior, faces decorated in the Rocaille style with fine gold lace. Manufactured by Loukoutine, 1843-1855. Height: 3.5 cm. Length: 5.5 cm. Depth: 9.5 cm (Minor damage, wear and soiling).
