Important statue of the Virgin and Child in carved and polyc - Lot 82
Important statue of the Virgin and Child in carved and polychromed wood. Standing, she tramples the serpent, symbol of Evil, underfoot. She is dressed in a long robe and tunic, with a sash tied under her breast and a collar adorned with cherub heads. The faces are smiling. Original polychromy, accidents to the Virgin's fingers, the Child's arms missing, worm damage. French art, late 16th century or early 17th century 148 x 61 cm - Accidents.
