Annie VISCO (Born 1959) Joyeuseries Balnéaires, 2023 Oil on canvas. Monogrammed lower right. Stamped by Les Artistes français (selected by Les Artistes Français for the year 2024). 73 x 100 cm Distinction : - Premier prix du public Art design Show, Feb. 2025. "I've always been passionate about the arts: classical dance to perfect the body and awaken the mind, followed by drawing... Painting beauty, revealing emotions, revealing light in my canvases, sublimating the body, these are the intentions that drive me. I began drawing lessons in 2009, followed by pastel, acrylic and oil on canvas. I began this wonderful adventure in a studio in the 17th arrondissement. 3 painters have influenced me in the direction I've taken: Joaquin SOROLLA and the light revealed in a subtle and delicate way, Caravaggio for the chiaroscuro and the emotion that emerges and Soulages (for my Nuits de Lumière series) who helped me discover the nuances of black and the light that emerges from it. After a series on the body entitled "Nus de Lumière", I went on to create a series entitled "Personnages". "Joyeuseries balnéaires" is the result of this series. It's a scene of life, with a soft nostalgia in a padded universe. The characters chat happily while sipping a cocktail, seemingly unaware of the passage of time. The painting represents friendship and carefree living in a timeless world. The water helps to add this note of softness, and the fading of the back of the painting into these pastel notes contributes to this old-fashioned impression." Annie VISCO is a member of the Artistes Français.
