French school, early 19th century. Portrait of an Officer Oval miniature on ivory*, dated and located on the back "Pein le 27 xbre 1805 Wienne en Autriche (sic)". H. 6.5 cm. per view. Chased brass frame with bezel. *Ivory specimen of Elephantidae spp (I/A) pre-Convention, prior to July 1, 1947 and therefore compliant with EC Regulation 338/97 of 09/12/1996 art.2-Wmc, and prior to July 1, 1975 and therefore compliant with the French decrees of May 4, 2017 and January 2022. To leave the European Union, a CITES re-export permit is required.
