Africa. CIWARAKUN. Mali. One of the most recognizable works of Bamana culture and of all African Art is the CI-WARA antelope headdress. As a society that lived primarily on agriculture, BAMANA men and women worshipped the CI WARA as a deity that contributed to the abundance of crops. During ceremonies in the fields, two dancers, one male and one female, wore a CI-WARA crest on their heads while fully clad in rafias.
