[FRENCH RESISTANCE] Louis ARAGON (1897-1982) Appeal to French intelligence, June 1944. In-8 leaflet, Comité national des Ecrivains, published clandestinely in Romans and distributed throughout the southern zone, signed, dated and accompanied by a two-line apostille. Provenance: - Librairie Ancienne Georges Privat, 180 boulevard Haussmann, Paris Elsa Triolet and Louis Aragon arrived in Nice in the autumn of 1940. After the invasion of the southern zone, they were first welcomed by Pierre Seghers near Dieulefit in the Drôme, then in Lyon, before the FTPF Resistance network found them a refuge in Saint-Donat, where they stayed until September 1944 under the identities of Elisabeth and Lucien Andrieux. Continuing their work as writers, they were also responsible for mobilizing intellectuals, doctors, lawyers, etc. in the southern zone, creating newspapers and drafting numerous clandestine statements.
