Flintlock hunting rifle, double-barreled with blued flat-top barrels, stamped and decorated with thunderheads featuring golden rays; silver front sight at the muzzle, also surrounded by golden rays; finely engraved breech; flat-bodied hammers, engraved with swans, signed: "Aubron à Nantes," volute-shaped basins, gilded on the inside, swan-neck hammers, and finely engraved firing mechanisms; all screws guilloché; cut and engraved silver mountings, bridge adorned with an imperial eagle; walnut burl stock, grip carved with scales and ending in a dolphin’s head, with eyes of mother-of-pearl and ebony; the underside of the stock is checkered and features a silver thumb rest shaped like a shield; the breech end is surrounded by fine carved pearls; a whale-bone stock with a bone tip; length 120 cm (One trigger guard broken at the swan neck, but still present). Early Empire period. Very good condition.
